Jaime de los Pendejos (1958 - )

For years Mr. de los Pendejos was hailed by critics as a ''poet of quiet epiphanies and solemn enunciations whose stature in the Spanish-speaking world is akin to Yeats's and Rilke's in their worlds'' (Romp, May 2002). It is only recently that scholar Nat Athens revealed de los Pendejos to be just another schmuck from Long Island. For more on the recent de los Pendejos controversy, go here.
