Bret Addison b. 1955

When he was sixteen, Mr. Addison worked at a pizza parlor and had to ask his boss if he could take off early to bail his parents out of jail. His parents were the largest bookies in Indianapolis and the FBI raided the house. They never found Mr. Addison's pot though. ''I used to write poetry to get laid. Now I write because I can only sort out my mess when I see it on the monitor," says Mr. Addison.
