Guy Wetmore Carryl (1873 - 1904)

Mr. Carryl was an American humorist, parodist, and poet, born in New York City. He was known for his humorous poems that were parodies of Aesop's Fables. He died at age 31 from an illness thought to be contracted from exposure while fighting a fire at his house a month earlier. Guess he couldn't get out of the whey.
