Gene Tashoff b. 1936

A proud army veteran and a tear-gassed demonstrator against the Vietnam War, Mr. Tashoff remains scarred by a Passover seder during which he locked himself in the bathroom, due to read the Four Questions, because he resented his musician father getting all the attention on his special night. A published short story writer, he notes, ''My writing is both an act of self-discovery plus a constant attempt by that Passover kid to get attention.''
