Andrew H. Oerke b. 1933

Mr. Oerke has been busy. He has worked in and visited more than 160 countries, has been a Golden Gloves champion; football player; Fulbright scholar; university professor; Poet-in-Residence, dean of administration at one of the largest community colleges in the country; World Bank consultant; and consultant to the United Nations. He spent many years in development work with the Peace Corps and other voluntary organizations. His poetry has appeared in The New Yorker, The New Republic, Poetry, and many other publications. In 2003, he received the award for literature by the U.N. Society of Writers and Artists. Don't you feel lazy now?
