THE CORN FLAKE KING
by Robert McNamara
I am The Corn Flake King
I eat many cornflakes
like a brontosaur momping its meal
I am the price of cereal
in U.S.A downsized charity
I am the one in the market hoarding up
crunch of gruel sloth feed need
Our mouths maw corn, flake thoughts
Read the boxes and trance out
Read the boxes and trance out
Read the boxes and trance out
Read the boxes and trance out
Trance
Think of mid-nation
Throbbing out food to the masses
It's enormous, ENORMOUS
And in my kitchen salad dressing hell
suppertime is a used carwreck
(SPELLCHECK!)
I eat the day on cornflakes
for I am The Corn Flake King
and our trough is full
and the herd rumbles
like a congress of hungry swine
and cornflake addiction
is a psychological tax
you voted to pay.
