Let There Be Light Verseby R.J. Clarken
''SLIME and dime and climb all rhyme,
so sayeth yon brave poetaster,
''and if it's rhyme, it's très sublime;
hence, I'm a poet master.''
'Tis no curse to love thy verse;
To me no calling's higher.
And though perverse, things could be worse
than to be versifier.
To lapse, although, on scansion's flow
is sin condemned egregious.
True poets know, just like Pernod,
that rhymesters wax prestigious.
In closing, doggerel will always be
the very best of poetry.
