Has Anyone Seen My Meds?

by Ryan Quinn Flanagan

THE tumult of dirty dishes in the sink
and daily grind
is enough to drive one mad
but there are ways to handle it
and there are ways to not.
For instance,
joining the local mob for a career change
and sitting in the front seat
when you're asked to go for a drive

is not wise.

Cutting your lawn with a butter knife
or brushing your gums with steel wool
or watering your neighbours' lawn when you really have to go
are not much better.

I don't actually know what the good ways to handle it are.
Would you let me know when
you find them?

And for christ sakes, please,
wash the damn dishes.

They're really piling up.
