ON the banks of the canal
I saw dozens of snail shells
         -empty-
next to the water.
And it looked like those snails
had taken off their clothes
and gone for a dip.
I thought, how funny it would be
to steal their clothes and
hang them from the trees so when
they climbed out of the canal
they'd be nekkid.
But I didn't do it.
Left my own clothes on the
banks of the canal.
And joined them there snails.
