The Video Music Awards*

by Richard A. Plenty

OH glorious,
glorious night.
The stars shimmering.

I have pictures of all the
constellations on my wall;
their music in my heart.

So close to heaven, I was.
They saw my clever sign in the crowd;
my little prayer to the gods of rock

I felt so special.

Surrounded by
artistic brilliance.

'Twas as if they were
there for me,
only me.

I am a star
shining bright as TV.

I, too, look fabulous
in Gucci.

Was it their poetry that
spoke to my heart?

Was it their voices
that shook my soul?

No, oh no,
it was probably
the titties.
